No. It lays open flat on the floor. He steps onto it, you bring each leg through one of the four openings, close the side panels from where you are kneeling, and stand up. Nothing gets hoisted.

Then run a tape around the widest part of his ribcage, just behind the front legs, and check it comes in under 33.0 in for XL, 34.5 in for 2XL, 37.8 in for 3XL. If he is between two, take the larger one.

Is this the sling my vet told me to get?
A different job. A support sling is for supported walking, where he still puts some weight down on purpose. This is for the trips where he is carried and his legs stay off the ground the whole way.
He did not have surgery. He is just old.
Then it does the same job. The stairs, the yard and the car are the same three trips whether the reason is a recovery window or the years.
He still has to go out to the bathroom

Eight to twelve is the usual window, and that is a fair thing to weigh at sixty five dollars. Two honest things about it: it folds flat and keeps for the next time, and the next time tends to come.
Will it get here before I need it?
Free shipping to any address in the United States, with no minimum. There are two stretches and it helps to count them separately: one to three business days for the order to leave the warehouse, then five to eleven days in transit. So plan on somewhere between six days and two weeks from the moment you order.
If he is not moving as easily as he used to, order now rather than later. It is easier to fit it and practise while he can still stand and hold still than to learn it on a day that is already hard.
